Introducing Anthony Cheung

It is my privilege to announce that Anthony Cheung will be joining the staff of Doulos on a part time basis.

I have known Anthony since he was a teenager and have watched him mature in his journey with the Lord. Anthony also worked as my intern for two summers helping me both in Ottawa and up in the Cree communities of Northern Quebec. He was also our team leader during those two summers in the Cree community of Ouje Bougamou helping direct our camps for kids and youth. I am truly thankful to have him once again part of the team!

Anthony will assist me here in the Ottawa area by helping to strengthen our Exousia Youth Pastors network, be part of our No Other Name Leadership team and also work with me on some projects with our Cree Friends. His enthusiasm, organizational skills, passion for youth and vision for the Lord to work in the Greater Ottawa area will serve us well in the days to come.

Hey there,

I have attached a fuller explanation on how your prayers were heard and answered on this latest trip to Mistissini, especially in the area of safety as I travelled. The attached report details out what happened and the Hand of the Lord protecting and providing for me!!  I did not realise how impactful those prayers would be as I mentioned it as a simple request to all of you!

I have also highlighted an update on Pastor Gordon and MaryJane Petawabano. They were thrilled to know that so many of you were praying for them. Please continue to do so as the funeral for the five fire victims is hopefully to be either this Friday or Saturday.

Dr. Joe Jolly also had a great and meaningful time up there visiting with the family members of the bereaved and others in the community impacted by this great loss. Joe has a great gift for evangelism and had amazing opportunities to speak life to a number of people! He also did some personal grief counselling and was a huge encouragement to many.

My time up there was also of the Lord. My meetings one on one with so many, the workshops I was able to do and being able to hand out over 60 Bibles to individuals after spending time with them was precious. The Bibles were supplied by the Gideons and were beautifully produced in a magazine type format entitled Hope. I explained to everyone what it was and they were all excited to get one. Hope is what they are looking for. Hope is what God provides that is real and meaningful because of Jesus!

I truly thank God for your involvement in the ministry He has called me to. Your faithfulness in partnering with us prayerfully, financially and with words of encouragement are eternal!!

Blessings on you,
Paul
